We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Engineer with team leadership capabilities to manage and support our Windows and Intel-based systems. The ideal candidate will not only ensure the stability, security, and performance of our infrastructure but also lead a small team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coordination across projects. This role requires balancing hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities to deliver reliable IT services in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of system engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.

  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of projects and incident resolutions.

  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.

  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.

  • Systems Administration & Infrastructure Management

  • Manage and upgrade Windows servers (in-place and migration).

  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related services.

  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues across Intel-based platforms, especially Lenovo hardware.

  • Perform monthly OS patching and application upgrades across both Linux and Windows enviroments

  • Deploy and manage virtual environments using VMware/Nutanix technologies.

  • Manage NAS storage and iSCSI solutions.

  • Oversee VM deployments and day-2 operations.

  • Perform capacity upgrades (scaling up/scaling out).

  • Security & Compliance

  • Implement security best practices and remediate vulnerabilities from monthly scans.

  • Manage Commvault backup solutions and Trend Micro Deep Security.

  • Ensure compliance with yearly audits (Host Compliance Report, ASA).

  • Collaboration & Documentation

  • Collaborate with application teams to support incidents and projects.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and processes.

  • Oversee ITSM inventory management and asset tracking.

  • Coordinate patches and upgrades during approved maintenance windows, including on-call support.

  • Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems is a bonus.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience:

  • Several years of hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022).

  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.

  • Experience in regulated environments.

  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Nutanix).

  • Experience with backup/recovery tools (Commvault, NetBackup).

  • Knowledge of patch management tools (BMC, WSUS).

  • Prior experience leading or mentoring a small technical team preferred.

  • Certifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE) preferred.

  • VMware (VCP) or Nutanix certifications are a plus.

  • ITIL Foundation.

  • Linux Certification (RHEL, RHCSA, RHCE or equivalent)

  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.

  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
