Description and Requirements

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Strategic Account Executive to support Lenovo’s Tier 1 Cloud Service Provider (CSP) business. This role is responsible for both expanding existing strategic relationships and hunting for new business opportunities within Lenovo’s targeted hyperscale and cloud customer base.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and is comfortable engaging in executive-level discussions, driving complex negotiations, and leading cross-functional initiatives across technical, operational, and commercial teams. This individual must possess a strong hunter mentality with the ability to identify, develop, and close new opportunities while building long-term strategic partnerships.

This role will work closely with Lenovo’s Hyperscale, Engineering, Product, Supply Chain, and Services organizations to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within Lenovo’s strategic hyperscale and CSP target accounts.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, technical leaders, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders within targeted accounts.

  • Leverage existing industry relationships and customer ecosystem partnerships to accelerate business growth and strategic engagement.

  • Develop account penetration strategies to expand Lenovo’s footprint within targeted cloud and hyperscale customers.

  • Drive revenue growth by developing and managing a strong sales pipeline that consistently meets or exceeds quota targets.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Lenovo sales, engineering, supply chain, services, and support organizations to deliver customer-focused solutions and ensure operational excellence.

  • Educate customers on Lenovo’s data center infrastructure portfolio, including compute, storage, networking, AI infrastructure, and liquid cooling solutions.

  • Effectively communicate Lenovo’s value proposition through executive briefings, customer presentations, technical discussions, and business reviews.

  • Operate successfully in a highly complex, technical, and rapidly evolving environment.

  • Influence and contribute to long-term executive relationships that reinforce Lenovo’s reputation as a trusted strategic partner.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience hunting and closing new business within Cloud Service Providers, hyperscalers, or enterprise infrastructure accounts.

  • Existing relationships with key decision-makers within targeted hyperscale, CSP, or enterprise accounts are strongly preferred.

  • Strong network within the customer ecosystem, including technology partners, integrators, and industry influencers.

  • Executive presence with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership; C-level relationships are a strong plus.

  • Strong understanding of data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, AI infrastructure, and cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrated success selling complex technical solutions in high-growth, fast-paced environments.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to navigate large matrixed organizations and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong business acumen with experience in account planning, forecasting, and pipeline development.

  • Self-motivated, results-driven professional with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.

Position Requirements:
Basic qualifications:
7+ years of technical sales experience required; Account Manager, Server Sales Specialist and/or Sales Engineer.
7+ years of sales in server product experience with either an OEM or ODM Vendor
5+ years of experience in the strategic selling of future and current technologies


Preferred qualifications:
Ability to create quarterly business plans and annual Playbooks
Integrity, willingness to provide feedback in challenging situations
Project Management Skills
Proficient in selling to engineers
B.S./B.A. or equivalent training


The base salary range budgeted for this position is $170,000 - $210,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo's various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com
