Job Overview
Lead end-to-end business development and key account management for Lenovo’s vehicle computing solutions in Japan, focusing on autonomous driving domain controllers, ADAS/AD platforms, and intelligent cabin computing solutions. Drive market penetration, OEM/Tier‑1 partnerships, solution co‑creation, and revenue growth while aligning with Lenovo’s global smart mobility strategy. This role requires deep automotive technical and commercial expertise, extensive Japanese OEM/Tier‑1 network, and full bilingual proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Strategy & Market Leadership
- Develop and execute Japan market strategy for autonomous driving (L2+ to L4) and intelligent cabin computing solutions, including go‑to‑market, pricing, channel, and partnership models.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, regulatory updates, and customer technology roadmaps; translate insights into actionable BD plans.
- Own P&L, sales pipeline, forecasting, and quarterly/annual business targets for Japan vehicle computing.
2. OEM & Tier‑1 Business Development & Partnerships
- Establish, nurture, and expand executive-level relationships with Japanese automakers (OEMs) and top Tier‑1 suppliers.
- Lead end-to-end deal lifecycle: opportunity identification, requirement analysis, solution proposal, technical alignment, commercial negotiation, contract closure, and post-win program governance.
- Drive co-innovation projects with key customers for domain controller, central computing, cabin SoC/software platform, and in-vehicle computing integration.
3. Technical Solution & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with global product, engineering, and R&D teams to tailor Lenovo’s vehicle computing hardware/software solutions to Japanese customer specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct technical workshops, solution reviews, and proof-of-concept (PoC) management for autonomous driving and cabin domains.
- Align with program management, supply chain, and quality assurance to ensure on-time delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
4. Ecosystem & Industry Engagement
- Build and manage partnerships with chip vendors, software platforms, toolchain providers, and mobility ecosystem players in Japan.
- Represent Lenovo at industry exhibitions, technical symposiums, and standardization bodies to enhance thought leadership and brand visibility.
- Support marketing, enablement, and sales enablement for Japan mobility business.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive business development, sales, or key account management experience in automotive industry, with solid OEM or Tier‑1 background in Japan.
- Proven track record in autonomous driving (ADAS/AD) domain controllers, intelligent cabin, in-vehicle computing, or automotive electronics solutions.
- Fluent business proficiency in both Japanese and English (written, verbal, negotiation, and executive communication); native or near-native level in Japanese strongly preferred.
- Deep existing network with Japanese OEMs and Tier‑1s; experience leading large-scale customer programs and closing multi-year, high-value contracts.
- Strong technical acumen to understand and articulate vehicle computing architecture, SoC, software platforms, functional safety (ISO 26262), and automotive quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, cross-cultural collaboration, negotiation, and project management skills; ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced global matrix organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with central computing, domain convergence, cabin‑driving integrated solutions, or software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures.
- Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity, AUTOSAR, or Japanese automotive quality and compliance requirements
- Prior experience in a global tech company or international automotive supplier.
