About the Role
Lenovo's Cloud & Software business is seeking an Associate Product Manager, Hybrid AI Platform as part of our Fresh Grad Program. This position sits at the intersection of product management, agentic AI, and platform engineering. You will help build the runtime, services, and developer surfaces that let product teams across Lenovo ship agentic and hybrid AI features without having to stand up their own model routing, NPU integration, or agent infrastructure.
You will contribute to a platform that spans on-device inference, cloud orchestration, and the connective tissue between them, working alongside experienced product managers, engineers, and designers. You will also receive hands-on, on-the-job training with Lenovo's product management experts to strengthen your technical and strategic leadership skills.
This role is in Morrisville, NC. And operates under a hybrid schedule (three days onsite, two days remote).
Responsibilities
- Support the product strategy and roadmap for an agentic AI runtime that runs on Lenovo devices and integrates with cloud models, contributing to the developer surfaces, tooling, and packaging that make the platform usable by product teams across the company.
- Partner with internal product teams shipping AI features into commercial and consumer experiences to capture requirements, gather feedback, and shorten delivery timelines.
- Contribute to the product definition for hybrid AI workload orchestration, learning how we decide what runs on the NPU, what runs in the cloud, and how policy and routing work across cost, latency, privacy, and capability tradeoffs.
- Track emerging agentic patterns such as tool use, MCP, A2A, multi-step reasoning, and model routing, and help translate them into concrete platform primitives, APIs, and SDKs. Draft PRD sections, run competitive and ecosystem research, and validate ideas with engineering and internal adopters.
- Build and maintain business documentation, feature roadmaps, and sprint artifacts using JIRA and Confluence.
- Partner with engineering, design, security, and ecosystem teams to support platform releases on a predictable cadence, helping manage dependencies between platform readiness and downstream product launches.
- Engage with internal adopters and, over time, external ecosystem partners across silicon, OS, model providers, and ISVs to align on capabilities, interfaces, and roadmap.
- Bring fresh thinking to how we plan and deliver work in an AI-native world, contributing to best practice documentation and supporting Lenovo's talent pipeline by collaborating with fellow Fresh Grad Program participants.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, Design, or a related field.
- Internship, co-op, capstone, or other project experience in product management, software development, design, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience using JIRA and Confluence for software product lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with the technical primitives of modern AI products: model APIs, inference, agents, tool calling, retrieval, and the differences between on-device and cloud execution. This can come from coursework, internships, side projects, or self-directed learning.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for emerging technologies, AI innovation, and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, agents, MCP, or hybrid AI architectures, including personal projects and prototypes.
- Exposure to generative AI platforms such as Cursor, Magic Patterns or Copilot etc. for product management or development workflows.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly through written documentation and presentations.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a track record of bringing structure to open-ended problems.
- Exposure to working with global, cross-cultural teams.
