Description and Requirements

Role Summary

The Manager, Engineering Delivery & Platform Operations is responsible for leading the engineering teams that develop, deploy, operate, and scale Lenovo's Sports & Entertainment technology portfolio.

Working closely with Sports Strategists, Principal Engineer, Product Leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders, this role translates strategic objectives and solution architectures into executable engineering plans while ensuring successful delivery across all products and initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide both technical leadership and people management, overseeing engineering execution, platform operations, release management, resource planning, and engineering governance across the Sports & Entertainment portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams including backend, platform, AI/ML, cloud, and integration engineers.
  • Establish engineering standards, development methodologies, and delivery processes.
  • Manage team performance, career development, hiring, and workforce planning.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.

Engineering Delivery

  • Own engineering execution across the Sports & Entertainment portfolio.
  • Translate business priorities and architectural designs into engineering roadmaps and delivery plans.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, resource allocation, and delivery timelines.

Platform Operations

  • Oversee deployment, operation, monitoring, and lifecycle management of all platforms and environments.
  • Drive reliability, scalability, and performance improvements.
  • Establish operational readiness, support models, and incident management practices.
  • Ensure solutions are production-ready and capable of supporting commercial deployment.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with the strategists/SAs to support innovation initiatives, customer engagements, and commercialization efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Engineer on technical planning, architecture implementation, and engineering governance.
  • Coordinate with product, data science, AI, infrastructure, and external partner teams.
  • Support customer workshops, executive briefings, and technical reviews as required.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or technical delivery experience.
  • 3+ years managing engineering teams.
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale software and platform development initiatives.
  • Experience delivering cloud-native and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience managing multiple products, programs, or engineering workstreams simultaneously.
  • Experience working directly with executive stakeholders and customers.
