Why Work at Lenovo
Description and Requirements
Please note that the team has moved to a new location. The office is now at 121 Menachem Begin Road, Tel Aviv, 61st floor, in the POINT office complex. As per our office policy, you will be required to visit the site at least three times a week.
Lenovo Digital Trust Lab is hiring a Research Manager to lead and grow the team building AI-powered security agents. You will own the team’s mission, people, and delivery — hiring and developing engineers and researchers, setting the research agenda, and partnering with technical leadership to turn ambitious security problems into shipped, production-grade agents. You set the conditions for the team to do its best work and are accountable for the impact, quality, and pace of what it delivers.
Job Responsibilities:
Build and lead the team — hire, develop, and retain engineers and researchers; set clear goals, growth paths, and performance expectations
- Own the team’s roadmap and delivery — translate org priorities into a focused research and engineering agenda, ensuring agents ship to production with quality and at a healthy pace
- Partner with Staff and senior engineers on technical direction — support architectural and evaluation decisions while owning execution, prioritization, and headcount
- Create the conditions for great work — remove blockers, manage cross-team dependencies, and protect the team’s focus and momentum
- Set the bar for research and engineering rigor — drive evaluation discipline, safety, reliability, and reproducibility across the team’s agents
- Partner with detection, AppSec, IR, and platform leadership to identify high-leverage opportunities and align on priorities
- Represent the team to senior leadership and stakeholders — communicate strategy, progress, risks, and resourcing needs clearly
- Stay close to the field — track frontier model releases and emerging techniques, and translate what is relevant into concrete bets
Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience (advanced degree is a plus)
- 4+ years managing engineers or researchers, or extensive tech-lead experience with clear readiness to step into people management, including scaling teams and building hiring pipelines
- 4+ years of software development experience, with a track record of delivering production systems or research outcomes in a team setting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to set direction and drive alignment across teams
- Solid foundations in Security Engineering — vulnerability research and exploitation, threat modeling, and security best practices across on-prem, cloud, and SaaS environments, including mapping findings to real-world risk and remediation
- Working knowledge of AI / Agent Engineering — autonomous agents, frontier reasoning models, and integrating them with offensive/defensive tools in production, including AI-powered coding/agent workflows
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, or similar), prompting, retrieval (RAG), and context/grounding techniques, including agentic tooling ecosystems (e.g., MCP, memory systems, skills)
- Experience with evaluation and harness engineering for non-deterministic systems (datasets, benchmarks, regression suites, observability), with a clear understanding of why evals are a first-class engineering discipline
- Health & Disability Insurance
- Pension/ Retirement Plan
- Meal Vouchers
- Employee Referral Bonus
- Children of Lenovo Employees Scholarship Program
- Lenovo and Motorola Product Discounts
- Employee Assistance Program, e.g., for health, legal & financial consultancy
- Internal E-learning Development Platform Available for Employees
