Required Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
- Working familiarity with Python for scripting, automation, data processing, model evaluation, or AI/ML prototyping.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, debugging, testing, and version control.
- Experience developing, integrating, or debugging software on Android, iOS, Linux, embedded systems, or mobile device platforms.
- Understanding of performance, memory, power, and latency constraints on mobile or embedded devices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex software issues across application, framework, and system layers.
- Ability to apply the scientific method to engineering problems, including forming hypotheses, designing experiments, analyzing results, and using data to guide decisions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, QA, product, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated passion for learning new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, including model inference, LLMs, embedding models, natural language processing, or on-device AI workloads.
- Familiarity with basic statistics, including distributions, probability, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and interpretation of experimental results.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, runtimes, or deployment formats such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, Qualcomm QNN, Qualcomm AI Stack, MediaTek NeuroPilot, Core ML, or similar technologies.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship, including CPT or OPT.
This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois. The requirement is three days in office/week. The base salary budgeted range for this position is $73,000 – 97,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found on www.lenovobenefits.com.
