Description and Requirements

Lenovo ISG is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support DC-SCM (Data Center Secure Control Module), a BMC module compliant with OpenBMC specifications, used in Lenovo server platforms. This role focuses on electrical evaluation, validation, and issue resolution for BMC hardware throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical validation and debugging for DC-SCM (BMC) modules based on OpenBMC architecture.
  • Review schematics and assess electrical design risks related to power, interfaces, and signal integrity.
  • Analyze test results, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical issues.
  • Work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve BMC-related hardware problems.
  • Support component qualification, change management, and lifecycle activities.
  • Document and communicate validation results and technical findings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of EE experience, preferably in server, BMC, or data center hardware.
  • Solid understanding of BMC hardware, power delivery, and common interfaces (e.g. I²C, SPI, UART).
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Good English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OpenBMC-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with server electrical validation and supplier engagement.
