Description and Requirements

Role Summary

The HR Director, Solutions & Services Group (SSG), APJ is the strategic HR leader and trusted advisor to the SSG Sales Leadership Team across Asia Pacific and Japan.
Partnering closely with the APJ SSG leadership team, this role will drive people strategies that accelerate business growth, strengthen organizational capability, and support Lenovo's services-led transformation agenda. The HR Director will lead initiatives across talent management, leadership development, succession planning, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, culture, change management, and organizational transformation.
The role will also play a key leadership role in supporting inorganic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, ensuring successful integration of talent, culture, leadership teams, and organizational structures while minimizing business disruption.
As a member of the AP HR Leadership Team, this role will influence critical business decisions and ensure people strategies are aligned with Lenovo's growth ambitions within the Solutions & Services Group. [

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner to the APJ SSG President and APJ SSG Sales Leadership Team, providing strategic counsel on talent, organization, leadership, and business priorities.
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth, market expansion, and organizational transformation across the APJ SSG organization.
  • Lead workforce planning, organization design, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives to build future-ready capabilities.
  • Drive talent management processes including talent reviews, succession discussions, leadership assessments, and development planning.
  • Partner with business leaders to build a high-performance, inclusive, and customer-centric culture that enhances employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide strategic guidance on employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and workforce risk management.
  • Lead HR workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business integrations, including HR due diligence, talent assessment, retention planning, change management, organizational restructuring, and cultural integration.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning, and Talent Management, to deliver integrated people solutions.
  • Leverage people analytics and workforce insights to influence business decisions and improve organizational outcomes.
  • Coach and develop senior leaders to enhance leadership capability, organizational effectiveness, and team performance.

Skills & Experience

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience within complex multinational organizations.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior commercial, sales, services, or technology business leaders.
  • Strong expertise in organizational design, talent management, leadership development, employee relations, and change management.
  • Proven experience leading HR support for mergers and acquisitions, including HR due diligence, integration planning, organizational restructuring, talent assessment, retention planning, change management, and cultural integration.
  • Experience supporting regional organizations across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive business-aligned people strategies.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business priorities into effective HR solutions.
  • Excellent communication, executive coaching, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Experience utilizing people analytics and workforce insights to support business decision-making.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Cantonese, with the ability to effectively partner with senior stakeholders, employees, and business leaders across Hong Kong and the APJ region.
  • Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Hong Kong.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting technology, software, cloud, AI, services, or subscription-based businesses.
  • Experience supporting regional sales organizations.
  • Experience leading post-merger integration (PMI) programs in a multinational environment.
  • Working knowledge of Mandarin would be advantageous.
  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Professional HR certification.
  • Experience managing large-scale transformation and organizational change programs.
