We are looking for an AI Tax Solutions Engineer who combines technical expertise in AI with a passion for solving real-world tax and compliance challenges. In this role, you will develop cutting-edge AI-powered solutions that help businesses and individuals navigate tax regulations with greater accuracy, efficiency, and confidence.
You will work on innovative products powered by Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Intelligent Automation, and AI Agents, creating smart tax assistants, automated filing solutions, compliance validation tools, and digital advisory platforms. Working alongside tax specialists, product teams, and AI engineers, you will help build the next generation of intelligent tax technology that delivers exceptional user experiences while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
AI Product Development
- Design, develop, and optimize AI-powered tax solutions that streamline tax filing, automated calculations, compliance reviews, and advisory services.
- Build intelligent tax assistants using Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide contextual and accurate tax guidance.
- Develop innovative AI workflows and automation solutions that simplify complex tax processes for businesses and individual taxpayers.
Tax Intelligence & Compliance
- Embed local tax regulations, including LHDN guidelines, SST requirements, and individual and corporate income tax rules, into AI-driven consultation platforms.
- Ensure AI-generated responses align with current tax regulations, compliance standards, and business requirements.
- Continuously improve AI models and prompt strategies to maintain high-quality, compliant, and reliable outputs.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Partner closely with tax experts, product managers, and engineering teams to design user-centric tax technology solutions.
- Translate tax regulations and business requirements into scalable AI workflows and product features.
- Drive rapid prototyping, experimentation, and continuous product enhancement based on user feedback and market needs.
Product Validation & User Experience
- Build proof-of-concepts and lightweight product prototypes for validation with SMEs, businesses, and individual taxpayers.
- Conduct user testing and gather insights to improve accuracy, usability, and customer satisfaction.
- Champion a data-driven approach to product development through frequent iteration and optimization.
Performance & Analytics
- Monitor AI product performance through dashboards and operational metrics.
- Track key success indicators, including filing success rates, AI response accuracy, user satisfaction, and compliance risk metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve product effectiveness, customer adoption, and business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Experience in AI/ML application development, Generative AI, NLP, or intelligent automation solutions.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with APIs, databases, and cloud technologies.
- Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI Agents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex regulations into scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing compliance, tax, finance, fintech, or regulatory technology solutions.
- Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations, LHDN requirements, SST, and income tax frameworks.
- Experience with OpenAI, Azure AI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, or similar AI platforms.
- Exposure to product management, startup environments, or rapid product development methodologies.
- Familiarity with analytics and dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
