Description and Requirements



As part of Lenovo’s global HR organization, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for employees across Europe. This position partners closely with HR, Finance, external payroll providers, and employees to ensure compliant payroll processing, effective query resolution, and a high-quality employee experience. The successful candidate will bring hands-on payroll operations experience, strong attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. The role is based in Bratislava, Slovakia, reports to the Payroll Manager, and is offered as a maternity leave backfill opportunity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and validate payroll-related data to support accurate monthly payroll processing for Europe and META employees.
  • Review payroll calculations and perform quality checks throughout all stages of the payroll cycle.
  • Manage employee payroll inquiries and provide timely, accurate resolution of payroll-related issues.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are processed in accordance with internal policies, local regulations, and established procedures.
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers to support the successful delivery of outsourced payroll services.
  • Partner with HR teams, business stakeholders, and Finance colleagues to ensure seamless end-to-end payroll operations.
  • Monitor payroll activities, identify discrepancies, and escalate complex issues to the Payroll Manager when appropriate.
  • Support payroll reporting, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and compliance.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of payroll operations experience, including Europe and META payroll administration.
  • Experience with payroll processing activities such as time management, leave administration, sick leave processing, employee registration, payroll tax administration, pay processing, and payroll reporting.
  • Experience working with payroll systems, payroll tools, and payroll data validation processes.
  • Experience handling payroll-related employee inquiries and resolving payroll issues effectively.
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong customer focus, relationship management, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills; experience in a Shared Services or HR/Payroll outsourcing environment is preferred.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The anticipated initial gross base salary range for this position is €17000–24860 per year. This range applies to the primary job location Slovakia and is determined using objective, non-discriminatory and gender-neutral criteria, including skills and relevant experience. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.
Individuals may also be eligible for variable compensation (such as bonus or commission), depending on the role. The applicable variable pay model, eligibility, and target levels will be discussed during the recruitment process.
In addition to base salary and any applicable variable compensation, Lenovo provides statutory remuneration components required by local law, as well as Lenovo's comprehensive benefits package supporting employee well-being, development, and equal opportunities.
For roles open across multiple countries, local base salary ranges may vary based on market conditions, internal frameworks, and legal requirements. The relevant local range will be transparently communicated during the initial discussions.
