Why Work at Lenovo
Description and Requirements
SSG Solutions Sales Executive – Education (Public Sector US & Canada)
We are looking for an experienced software and services sales expert to join Lenovo’s Solutions and Services Group (SSG). This role focuses on targeting existing and prospective Education accounts (K-12 school districts, colleges, and universities) across the US and Canada to expand the footprint of Lenovo’s portfolio of software solutions and IT services. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about selling technology solutions into the education ecosystem and possesses a proven track record of identifying, engaging, and closing software and service-focused opportunities.
As an SSG Solutions Sales Executive, you will engage key decision-makers across primary, secondary, and higher education institutions (such as Superintendents, University Deans, CTOs, CIOs, IT Directors, and Academic Leaders), uncover their institutional needs, and guide them through the buying process. You will operate independently and collaborate closely with Lenovo’s hardware and services sales organizations as a specialized software and services subject matter expert.
This is a fully remote role (US or Canada), requiring up to 20% travel for campus and district visits, industry conferences, and regional Lenovo meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Pipeline & Opportunity Management: Own all aspects of the sales process across US and Canadian K-12 districts and Higher Education accounts by building relationships with key academic and IT decision-makers, identifying institutional needs, and aligning software and service solutions to educational outcomes.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner with Lenovo Hardware and Services Sales teams to penetrate school districts, colleges, and universities where software and services components are needed, driving upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Solution Demonstrations: Develop deep expertise in Lenovo’s education software solutions and SSG offerings to conduct compelling product demonstrations and value presentations to district leadership, university administrators, faculty, and IT staff.
- Services Integration: Identify opportunities to attach professional services, implementation, lifecycle management, and software support services to core software packages.
- Sales Execution & Forecasting: Maintain effective time management skills to cultivate new territory, navigate complex campus and district procurement cycles, manage the end-to-end sales cycle, and accurately forecast revenue.
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate customer data, deal stages, and interaction records within the CRM to ensure clear tracking of KPIs and quota progress.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing software sales experience with a primary focus on selling solutions into K-12 school districts, colleges, or universities in the US and/or Canada.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent professional work experience
- Services Sales Experience: Hands-on experience identifying, positioning, and closing technology services, deployment support, or managed services alongside software packages.
- Technical Presentation Skills: Strong background in presenting and demonstrating software and service capabilities to institutional leadership, including campus CIOs, IT personnel, superintendents, and administrative leaders.
- End-to-End Sales Success: Demonstrated track record of managing every stage of the sales lifecycle—from prospecting and needs analysis to navigating institutional purchasing processes, solution design, negotiation, and closing.
- Communication & Drive: Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills (English); self-directed, highly motivated, and consistently meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas.
In compliance with Colorado's EPEWA, the expected application deadline for this position is October 1, 2026. This applies to both external and internal candidates.
