Job Overview
The Director, Site Analytics is an experienced analytics leader with e-commerce, retail, or consulting experience and business acumen. They are responsible for establishing the future vision of Digital Analytics tools and analysis frameworks, they embed customer metrics into the digital business dialogue. The ideal candidate excels in working with cross-functional teams, consulting internal business stakeholders, and fostering a data-driven culture, with a strong passion for digital retail. This role requires analytical and storytelling skills to surface meaningful insights and interpersonal skills to communicate insights in a compelling, proactive, and relevant manner. The Director partners directly with the VP of Site Merchandising and other leaders to support analytics and reporting in support of driving digital business performance.
What You Will Do
Analytics Leadership: Demonstrated experience as an analytics leader in e-commerce, retail, or consulting, with a strong understanding of business acumen.
Visionary Thinking: Ability to establish the future vision of Digital Analytics tools and analysis frameworks, including embedding customer metrics into the digital business dialogue. Capability to think creatively, strategically, and technically to drive business outcomes through analytics.
Collaboration: Proficiency in collaborating with key stakeholders to identify gaps in analytics capabilities, develop roadmaps, and prioritize tasks with the data engineering pod.
Interpersonal Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to influence partners and represent the Digital Analytics function effectively in key stakeholder meetings. Ability to effectively share technical information and communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of the business.
Project Management: Ability to lead special projects for Digital Analytics, collaborate closely with Digital Strategy and Enterprise teams, and develop analysis frameworks and presentations for communicating key insights across the enterprise.
Data Utilization Skills: Proficiency in incorporating third-party or digital market data into discussions to gain deeper insights into performance.
Technical Expertise: Experience with web analytics tools, preferably Adobe Analytics, and expertise in SQL, Python, SAS, R, or other coding languages, as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Attention to Detail: Capability to view complex data for extended periods of time, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in analysis.
Prioritization Skills: Proficiency in juggling multiple projects, identifying primary and secondary objectives, prioritizing time, and communicating timelines to team members.
Ownership Mentality: Desire and ability to take ownership of products/projects within the scope of Digital Analytics.

What You Will Do
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify gaps in analytics capabilities, develop a roadmap to enhance analytics toolsets and frameworks, and prioritize tasks with the data engineering pod.
- Integrate Customer Analytics Metrics into the Digital Organization to expand analysis beyond clicks by partnering with Macy’s Customer Analytics team.
- Evaluate new analytics tools for the Digital Analytics team to assess their fit within the broader analytics ecosystem.
- Provide thought leadership in analytics to digital and enterprise partners, advising on best practices for utilizing data to drive business decisions.
- Act as a strong collaborator capable of influencing partners and representing the Digital Analytics function in key stakeholder meetings.
- Lead special projects for Digital Analytics in close collaboration with Digital Strategy and Enterprise teams.
- Develop analysis frameworks and presentations to communicate key insights across the enterprise.

- Minimum 7 years of experience in consulting, strategy, and e-commerce / or retail analytics. Experience in digital merchandising, product management, or marketing preferred.
