Overview

As Sr. Director, Technology Finance, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the financial activities related to our technology division. You will collaborate with senior leadership and technology teams to drive financial strategies, support decision-making processes, and optimize the financial performance of our technology initiatives.

Essential Functions

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial planning and budgeting processes for the technology division.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, analyze variances, and provide insightful recommendations to enhance financial performance.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, identifying potential risks and opportunities in a proactive manner.
  • Collaborate with the technology leadership team to align financial goals with strategic objectives.

Investment Evaluation

  • Assess the financial viability of technology projects and initiatives, ensuring they align with the company's overall financial strategy.
  • Conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses, ROI assessments, and sensitivity analyses to support investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with technology leaders to create business cases for new projects and provide financial insights for senior management evaluation.

Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports and presentations for technology stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Provide regular updates on financial performance, highlighting key trends and insights to drive strategic discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting principles related to technology finance.

Resource Allocation:

  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize return on investment for technology projects.
  • Work closely with technology managers to track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and allocate budgets efficiently.

Risk Management

  • Collaborate with the risk management team to assess and mitigate financial risks associated with technology initiatives.
  • Identify potential financial exposures and develop risk management strategies to safeguard the company's financial interests.

Vendor Management

  • Evaluate and negotiate technology vendor contracts, ensuring favorable financial terms and value for money.
  • Review vendor performance and invoices, validating compliance with contractual obligations.

Team Leadership And Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals dedicated to the technology division.
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment, promoting continuous learning and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced finance degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in finance, with a substantial focus on technology finance, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial analysis techniques, budgeting processes, and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with technology trends, IT cost structures, and project financials in the technology industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to technology teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, capable of effectively conveying complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of integrity in financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools commonly used in finance and accounting functions.
