Job Overview
As a Senior Business Insights Analyst, you’ll harness the power of data and analytical methods to tell a compelling story that turns insight into action for your stakeholders. You will work within an agile cross-functional data team to build strong stakeholder relationships, understand business needs, design comprehensive insight solutions, deploying BI products that will drive strategic decision making and measurement of results.
What You Will Do
- Work with pod leaders to understand business needs, prioritize roadmaps, and communicate directly with Stakeholders to confirm requirements.
- Responsible for BI solutions of diverse scope and demonstrates excellent judgement in selecting the correct methodology and datasets for obtaining solutions.
- Collaborates with Data Engineers to work on data collection/aggregation, storage, and retrieval processes.
- Execute projects with analytical best practices, linking data sources with quality and reliability.
- Utilizes interactive visualization tools to turn data into insights that tell a compelling story with a strong eye for user experience.
- Participate in validation/ QA tests and peer review processes to ensure integrity of the data displayed on reports.
- Provides post-implementation support, including supporting the resolution of defects and actual “in-field” use of ad hoc reports.
- Provide Power BI training or guidance as needed to stakeholders.
- Manage Power BI Administration activities including capacity, data connections, User/Group access provisioning, etc.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including developing processes for automation.
- Update and maintain existing reports and dashboards.
- Assist in scoping incoming Ad-Hoc requests.
Skills You Will Need
- Business Acumen: Possesses good working knowledge of retail business operations. Operates with a curious mindset to learn more about the specific objectives of their client groups. Asks great questions.
- Analytical Skills: The ability to dissect complex data sets, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Uses root cause analysis to resolve issues within data sets and propose innovative solutions.
- Technical Analytics: Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and SQL for querying databases. Possesses a working knowledge of data pipelines and knows when to partner with Data Governance & Data Engineering.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Collaborates with stakeholders and can clearly explain complex data and technical information in easily understood formats.
- Teamwork: Experienced with successful cross-functional collaboration and a trusted mentor to junior colleagues.
Who You Are
- 3+ years of work experience analyzing data and building comprehensive dashboards in an enterprise setting.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
- Passionate about building great BI products and solving customer and business problems.
- Ability to adapt to changing business environments and requirements
- You want to have more direct involvement with Stakeholders and collaborate across teams to build winning solutions.
- Possesses high levels of ownership, innovation, and simplification with a strong bias for action.
