Overview:

OVERVIEW

The Payments Consulting Team drives the development and promotion of highly configured consulting solutions to drive market development, efficiency in business development, and project delivery. The team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard’s rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations.


ROLE

The Payments Performance Optimization Director will have a proven track record… In this role, they will:
• Identify the need for new configured consulting offerings and lead the scoping process, pricing, and standardized proposal development.
• Own the go-to-market of consulting offerings, from the creation of sales materials, market development, and organizational alignment to bring products to market.
• Develop relationships in an internal sales capacity to align partners across different business units and drive the sale of new offerings at scale.
• Own key relationships with internal stakeholders across Services, Security Solutions Organization (SSO)…
• Work with internal and external clients to define and frame problems related to payments optimization, defining the scope of specific projects, and be a thought leader on topics such as authentication, authorization, fraud, and chargeback.
• Provide support on strategically important sales pursuits, and on strategically important projects globally.
• Develop presentations, generate research insights, and undertake complex analysis to support recommendations.
• Help create and generate thought leadership and work with the VP of Payments Performance Optimization to develop content that will be used to deepen the expertise of practitioners across the consulting team, including:
o Authoring whitepapers
o Curating webinars and training sessions on Mastercard products and solutions relevant to the payments optimization topics
o Manage the repository of case studies and best practice content for the respective consulting products.
• Support the Services Business Development functions and Client Services teams to secure new customers and provide our customers with a first-class experience.
• Manage working relationships with different stakeholders and act as a trusted and reliable partner for Payments Consulting.
• Lead project teams, identifying creative insights and sound business recommendations, and deliver impactful client presentations both internally and externally.
• Collaborate with internal Mastercard stakeholders to scope key/strategic projects, create relevant solutions for clients, and build the firm's intellectual capital.


ALL ABOUT YOU

• Strong business and financial intuition experience; consulting experience.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, executive presentations in both written and verbal communications.
• Takes initiatives, results-driven with high energy levels and resilience.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Undergraduate degree with work experience in consulting, corporate strategy, business intelligence, business line management, or product management.
• Experience managing senior stakeholders.
• Ability to identify new business development opportunities, and experience drafting proposals and scoping new opportunities in a consulting environment.
• Logical, structured thinking, and affinity for numerical analysis.
• Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English. Other languages are a plus.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience generating new knowledge or creating innovative solutions for a consultancy firm.
• Good knowledge in payments operations and optimization for with large financial institutions (e.g. customer authentication, transaction authorization rules, fraud mitigation, fraud operations, chargeback operations, digital customer experience).
• MBA or master’s degree with relevant specialization.
