Account Supervisor
McKinney
Purpose
To lead the development of holistic advertising and marketing experiences from conception to completion, own and foster day-to-day client relationships, and play a key role in developing the next generation of account management talent.
Responsibilities
Management of the Fundamentals
- Become and remain knowledgeable about assigned clients’ business, including marketing/communication objectives, KPIs, category, competition, etc.
- Supervise and lead account manager(s) in the execution of their responsibilities, including:
- Meeting management
- Presentation materials development
- Job/Budget tracking and management
- Competitive tracking
- Status reports
- Be knowledgeable and manage the details of all assigned client projects.
- Ensure clients are proactively and consistently up-to-date on all projects.
The Business of the Business
- Anticipate potential changes and obstacles with the client’s business and/or our relationship and involve the appropriate agency resources to bring to a resolution.
- Stay alert and share growth opportunities with the Account lead to increase client activity and billing, as well as obtain new business from existing clients.
- Work closely with the Account Director to understand our clients’ business (marketing/communication objectives, KPIs, category, competition, etc.) and show increasing abilities to grasp the issues and opportunities our clients face.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate needs and solve problems independently.
- Partner with strategists to analyze all competitive advertising activity and lead the preparation of competitive reviews and updates.
- Ensure that project manager, creative, strategy, digital, and media groups are informed of any client and/or competitive climate changes.
- Support senior account management staff in the preparation of client plans and recommendations. Participate as required with new business.
- Build strong, trusting client relationships that go beyond social and builds a hunger for bold, untested ideas.
Proactive Team and Client Leader
- Supervise the planning and execution of advertising campaigns in accordance with client’s objectives and budget limitations. Responsible for delivering work on time and on budget.
- Work with Account Leadership, Production, and other department heads to define project scope, staffing, and time allocation for the project.
- Provide oversight to the Account Manager in day-to-day client and internal activities, helping to set the path forward and identify potential dependencies/barriers.
- Guides, advises, assists, and stimulates all team members with the explicit goal of developing the agency’s account management talent. Takes action on underperforming individuals in a proactive, respectful manner.
- Set accurate expectations with clients, internal teams, and partner agencies on project schedule, communicating any shifts along the way.
- Collaborate with strategy, media, and creative teams in the development of the agency’s recommendation for the advertising mix to be used and the creative approach to be taken.
- Manage client questions as it relates to production timing, estimates, and workflow.
- Presents information and recommendations with confidence, instilling trust.
- Develop strong working relationships with partner agencies, ensuring two-way knowledge sharing.
- Makes recommendations on salary, promotions, and account rotations to the AD/GAD. Consults with HR as appropriate.

Professional Skills & Knowledge
- Individual should have advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite products and Outlook.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven expertise in grooming and developing junior account management talent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively write reports, business correspondence, and construct presentation materials.
- Experienced presenter: presents agency POV and materials confidently in person and on the phone.
- Individual should have an interest in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals and professional journals.
Experience
- Must be experienced in leading full-scale and/or non-traditional pharmaceutical marketing campaigns from idea conception through wrap-up.
- Must be proficient in Veeva.
- Experience in rare disease is a plus, but not required.
Salary Range
Our estimated range for this role is $90k - $110k.
Compensation packages are based on the skill level and experience each candidate brings to their role. There may also be a more senior or junior position available that could be a better fit with your expertise. Each level has its own compensation range.
