(Junior) Capabilities & Insights Analyst – Sustainability

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Lisbon or Wroclaw hub as part of our Client Capabilities Network (CCN).
You will join a new team of CCN colleagues with whom you will be collaborating on a daily basis. Additionally, you will interact with a wide range of McKinsey colleagues both locally and internationally. You will join an international team of 25+ analysts focusing on variety of business domains. Within this team, you will focus on sustainability related topics. You will also become part of McKinsey’s global sustainability network that helps clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies based on our extensive sustainability expertise, deep industry knowledge, front-line operating experience, and a proven ability to drive organizational transformation.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will conduct research and analysis covering a broad range of topics across various sectors and business functions.
You will have growth opportunities to specialize in the area of sustainability. You will support international projects by providing research and analysis results. You will assist our consulting teams in collecting, analyzing and synthesizing information to address specific business issues. As you increase your experience in the firm, you will develop into a true thought partner and build expertise in selected sustainability topics. You will be involved in client engagements by participating in problem-solving sessions and discussions, sharing your research results to help businesses, governments and non-governmental organizations across sectors define and realize their sustainability goals.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in environmental economics, natural resources, sustainable finance, sustainable business, or similar
  • Previous experience in sustainability (NGO, governmental or academic projects)
  • Strong interest in carbon markets and/or sustainable finance
  • Interest in economic, business, and regulatory aspects of sustainability/climate change (like ETS), ESG indicators, carbon emissions and decarbonization approaches, CSR trends and policies are a plus
  • Very good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven record of leadership
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in English
