Who You'll Work With

You will be based in one of our Greater China offices as part of our Operations Practice.
Our Operations Practice assists clients in solving complex operational challenges. By blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement operational strategies that address our clients' most critical problems.
McKinsey’s Manufacturing Service Line, as part of the Operations practice, is committed to helping clients align manufacturing strategy with overall business strategy and design and execute manufacturing transformations. Our services in lean transformation are becoming an increasingly necessary requirement for clients in manufacturing sectors as well as in non-traditional Lean areas such as process (energy, basic materials) and service (banking, retailing, airlines) industries.

What You'll Do

You will work with colleagues and clients to build best practices of lean transformation, from shop floor improvements to fundamental changes in work processes and information and material flows.
You will identify industry, business and technology/digital trends which can be applied in the digital manufacturing area, such as mobility, big data, cloud, IoT and etc. You will develop use cases for the application of specific technology elements in the client environment. You will develop a detailed solution in digital manufacturing and evangelize the transformation and strategy across the client organization. You will identify and problem-solve major issues to accelerate evolution into a fully “digital-capable” organization.
You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.
You will have the opportunity to design operating and production systems; drive and support implementation of lean improvement activities on the shop floor and along the value stream; improve the energy efficiency of manufacturing operations; build and enhance quality systems; build lean manufacturing capabilities in client organizations; and optimize global networks of manufacturing facilities.
In addition, you will collaborate with our worldwide network of consultants to shape McKinsey's thinking in this area, continuously developing your own knowledge as well as that of the firm.
