Who You'll Work With

As the HR Generalist you will work in Jakarta, one of our 6 locations in the Asia South Offices (ASO) as part of our ASO People Function team, reporting to the HR Manager. You will provide HR support to the colleagues in your geography. In this role, you will coordinate key HR elements within/across the lifecycle for colleagues, ensure compliance with all legal requirements, maintain local HR processes, support exceptional risk management and serve as key points of contact and counsel colleagues, on a broad range of HR policies and guidelines. You will be ASO primary point of contact for people actively in the mobility process or who have questions about mobility for your geographic location and will be the process leader, coordinator of services and problem solver for all mobility cases inbound and outbound.

What You'll Do

You will act as a trusted source of information and counsellor to colleagues and play a front-line role in answering HR questions and escalate issues as needed.
You will independently manage efforts such as: onboarding and offboarding; HR event ownership and administration of programs as appropriate; benefits administration and communication; ad-hoc, weekly, and annual personnel analysis and rep letter; development processes such as evaluation, performance management, capability building; communication and interpretation of policies and procedures, as well as risk management efforts, protecting the firm and firm members from risk. You will actively build expertise in areas such as People Central and other HR systems; develop specific expertise in other HR processes across life cycle, proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions and other Duty of Care programs and HR projects to support office/firm priorities (e.g. Mind Matters, workplace safety, Got a Concern), contributing to efforts beyond immediate scope as needed.
You will communicate the firm’s mobility philosophy and policy to transferees. You will coordinate with the various teams involved in mobility transfers (i.e. International Transfer Tax, office Staffing Coordinators, office Mobility Coordinators, etc.). You will counsel transferees on the most efficient way to use the resources available to them. You will develop/coordinate the development of location-specific and office-specific materials and programs to ease the integration of the expatriate and their family into their new environment. You will manage the inbound and outbound transfer process including: managing/coordinating the move approval process, immigration, personal and family needs, language lessons, housing assistance, etc. You will manage external immigration vendor. You will provide/coordinate ongoing support to transferees and their families with acculturation and integration in the new office, including welcome and departure activities. You will provide/coordinate re-integration of returning transferees. You will coordinate, monitor and ensure the timely payment of mobility allowances and compensation. You will determine and track local cost levels for expense items included in lump sum model. You will keep informed of mobility trends and best firm practices.

Qualifications

  • University degree in HR or related field
  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • Understanding of local labor considerations and Indonesia immigration regulations and processes (e.g. Indonesia Work Permit and EITAS)
  • Knowledge of immigration regulation of Southeast Asia would be an advantage
  • Exposure to HR systems (e.g. SAP), advanced level of proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and web-based applications and ability to quickly learn new applications/productivity tools
  • Strong command of the English language in both written and oral communications
  • Strong command of the Bahasa language in both written and oral communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of people in a fair and consistent manner
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Customer service oriented and able to handle competing demands
  • Strong problem solving skills; ability to manage ambiguity with an open mind and positive attitude
  • Evidence of sound judgment, professionalism, maturity, trustworthiness and initiative
