Who You'll Work With
You will join the Wroclaw Client Capabilities Network as part of our Manufacturing & Supply Chain (MSC) Solutions organization, a component of McKinsey’s Operations practice that focuses on deeply tech-enabling our client service. MSC-Solutions comprises a suite of internal and 3rd party tools, proprietary analytics and benchmarking database that accelerates diagnostics and transformations.
You will work directly with our clients and McKinsey colleagues to deploy our assets and ensure we bring tangible, lasting impact. Primarily, you will work from your base office. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to travel for client work and for internal team and practice events periodically.
Your impact within our firm
You will play an active role in supporting client engagements with best-in-class logistics benchmarks and you will perform rapid diagnostic analysis to identify value.
In between client work, you will bring your learnings back to our internal product development team to further improve and automate data capture, analytics and presentation of insights to clients.
In this role, you will work closely with our global logistics experts to enhance our existing offerings and build new ones. You will use your digital and analytical capabilities to assess opportunities in transportation, warehousing and network footprint that includes gathering and analyzing data, running a suite of analytics to assess and quantify opportunities as well as develop and communicate recommendations.
You will have the opportunity to work in an intellectually challenging business environment, build strong problem-solving skills and develop team and client leadership capabilities. You will also work with McKinsey’s network of industry and functional practices on developing cutting-edge knowledge related to the product development domain, leading various initiatives, and building the firm’s proprietary knowledge on product development related topics.

This support includes a senior member from the practice to guide your career. You’ll receive guidance and support from your local office in the selection of client projects, helping you to further develop your skills and build your network.
Your qualifications and skills
- Graduate/post-graduate degree in science, engineering, mathematics, business; master’s degree, MBA or PhD. in supply chain optimization, operation research, industrial engineering is a plus
- 2+ years of experience in freight procurement, with hands on knowledge of procurement software (e.g. Coupa, Ariba, Evalua)
- Working experience of TMS, WMS and/or network optimization tools is a plus
- Ability to handle data in large volumes (data manipulation, data cleansing and matching) through tools like Alteryx, SQL, Python, R, advanced Excel
- Superior analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
