Who You'll Work With

The Growth, Marketing & Sales (GM&S) practice is looking for a new Senior Asset Leader to serve as a data science lead within the B2B asset suite across software and data & analytics assets. In this role, you will lead initiatives to drive asset strategy, innovation, development, and radiation, in addition to leading pivotal client engagements.
As the Senior Asset Leader you will also manage quality and risk as well as deployment processes in collaboration with the broader business-to-business (B2B) leadership and asset teams. Key stakeholders for this position would be B2B Sciences for Growth leaders, and the role would report to the Technology Build and Delivery Lead. This position would also require close collaboration with Sector and Domain leaders.

Your impact within our firm

As the Senior Asset Leader you will grow our capacity to deliver client impact through preeminent, scalable assets, colleagues and capabilities, as a comprehensive general manager of scaled assets.
Responsibilities, depending on your interests and skills, may include Product Management, Product Development, Client Development and Client Deployment.
For Product Management, you will define the vision and roadmap, and own the backlog. You will lead the Product Development pipeline, which defines scope of future developments in collaboration with the Client Asset Development (CAD) team, Sector Joint Venture and Domain Leaders. You will also lead the data analytics and data engineering team to design, build, deploy, and maintain assets.
For Client Development, you will work with Sector Joint Venture, Domain and Client Service Team leaders to lead technical conversations with clients and generate demand as a highly credible and collaborative expert, colleague, and client counselor (in collaboration with B2B leaders and colleagues), as well as other proposal efforts.
For Client Deployment, you may lead/support efforts on deploying assets for specific client engagements.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Background in data science, asset development & delivery paired with a willingness to specialize in the area of B2B assets and bring related expertise to McKinsey teams and clients
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to think strategically
  • Strong analytical, technical background preferred, including knowledge of software/solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Skilled at working effectively in cross-functional team setups; experience leading teams
  • Adept at managing key stakeholders (internal & external), working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and confidence/ability to work with senior stakeholders
  • Strong process management skills, with a hands-on, action-oriented style
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills with a proven ability to lead and structure thinking/work for multidisciplinary teams
  • Proactive approach, entrepreneurial mindset, and comfort with ambiguity

For new joiners for this role in Canada and/or the United States, including all office locations where the job may be performed, a reasonable estimated range is $243,000 - $249,000 in USD and $280,000 - $282,000 in CAD — to help you understand what you can expect. This reflects our best estimate of the lowest to highest salary for this role at the time of this posting, ensuring you have a clear picture right from the start, though it's important to remember that actual salaries may vary. Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, start date and our current organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
