Your Impact

You will work as a part of the Finance Global Operations (FGO) team in Chennai or Gurugram office within the McKinsey Global Services (MGS) domain in India.
You will work in coordination with various offices, the accounting department, and applications support team to ensure to support the complex operational activities not only limited to accounting boundaries but also coordinating with various stakeholders to understand challenges, identify solutions and drive projects to achieve the desired result. Your understanding on end-to-end accounting flow on P2P, O2C, R2R is important to coordinate with various stakeholders inside Global Ops FINTECH team and Tax team. In this role, you will support managing and improving the overall operations (performance metrics, internal controls, compliance, automation, etc.), perform accounting related duties, including ad hoc projects, system upgrades, and testing and assist with data requests as needed.
You will be responsible for a variety of activities related to the general accounting process, primarily supporting the Cell Operations team to ensure timely support to offices on various accounting processing, analysis of all transactions for the office to identify process / accounting gaps to ensure smooth flow of accounting operations.
In this role, you will partner with functional leadership, office accounting manager and regional CFOs to identify issues, gather necessary information, and use the correct information to construct practical solutions for solving problems. You will develop, implement, report and review KPIs regularly with the appropriate functional leadership. You will regularly analyze the general accounting process, identify improvement areas and recommend new ideas to enhance the efficiency of the overall process, with the aim of increasing customer satisfaction.
You will drive transitions with complete ownership by performing the necessary due diligence, planning, allocation of responsibilities, knowledge transfer, implementation, and process stabilization. You will also ensure that policy changes and business process documentation (SOPs) are updated regularly and adhered to by all team members. professionals to support expansion. You will also act as an escalation point in resolving complex, outstanding issues with internal and external stakeholders
You will be an effective team player, working alongside other teams to achieve the common goals of the firm. You will be responsible for the objective assessment of team members' performance, identifying areas where training is required and organizing appropriate training sessions on an individual/group basis. You will regularly provide constructive feedback to team members on their respective performances and engage in conflict resolution as needed, making sure that team members feel supported by building trust-based relationships. In addition, you will provide regular coaching and mentoring to your team members.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Qualified CA Inter
  • 7+ years of work experience with 2+ years leading general accounting function in a multi-national shared services environment
  • Prior experience with automation such as OCR, RPA or analytics is preferable
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office and accounting concepts
