Your Impact
You will be responsible for periodic processes of adhering to VAT, GST or sales tax obligations in selected jurisdictions. As a VAT Analyst you will conduct a combination of tax reporting and analytical activities for the team. This involves independent ownership of periodic tax reporting process for company legal entities in a few jurisdictions, including working on statutory deadlines and ensuring accuracy of tax calculation.
Day to day activities include: self-directed preparation of periodic (usually monthly) indirect tax reporting forms and reports for company legal entities in a few jurisdictions; review accuracy of transactional records in terms of input tax deductibility or output tax applicability including also correctness of applied tax codes and tax rates; ensuring correctness of tax returns as per local statutory requirements and monitoring periodic deadlines; maintaining monthly reconciliation of VAT GL accounts and coordination of the clearing items; using tax reporting tools to conduct tax control checks and prepare tax reports; supporting accounting teams in accurate formal quality check of processed invoices; maintaining regular communication with local Finance Managers on tax reporting process, correctness of accounting records and expected legal changes; using both internal and external resources to learn about indirect tax legislation in supported jurisdictions and providing basic tax advisory to accounting teams/local finance cells; and supporting the team by improving indirect tax reporting processes, which includes raising initiatives.
As a VAT Analyst you will develop experience related to standard tax reporting tools, collect indirect tax expertise in a few jurisdictions, build relationships with internal stakeholders, and master basic project management. In this role, you will contribute to ensuring the firm’s tax transparency and accuracy of tax reporting, while fulfilling statutory obligations. You will be based in our Gurgaon office as part of a global Indirect Tax Team, which has members also in Poland and Germany.

Your qualifications and skills
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (fresher) or a Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant work experience required
- 1-3 years of corporate and/or professional services experience in Indirect tax, VAT, GST, Sales tax matters and/or accounting
- Ability to work in a collaborative way to provide services across multiple stakeholders while adhering to legal requirements
- Good understanding of VAT/GST regimes
- Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning
- Ability to work independently and entrepreneurially, managing and prioritizing deadlines effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
