Your Impact

You will work in small teams with colleagues and clients on marketing and sales topics, such as new product development, consumer insights, brand positioning, and channel strategies.
You will be dedicated to helping clients connect with customers and to drive revenue growth quickly. Working with companies to capture breakout sales growth by tapping new markets, personalizing customer experiences and optimizing interactions.
You'll have the opportunity to manage projects including tracking metrics, handling complex analyses and preparing communications to report back to clients and internal leadership. You'll develop practical recommendations and contribute to team discussions on implications of analysis, identifying implementation challenges. You'll work alongside the client’s staff on each project, assisting with different work streams. This could include facilitating working sessions with front-line and supervisors, connecting and motivating the client team or developing skills of McKinsey or client team members when appropriate, principally through coaching. You'll also solicit feedback from team members to develop your own skills.
Moreover, you will communicate with the leadership team about the progress of the project, problems faced and future expectations.
You’ll be based in Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen and will work as part of McKinsey’s Lanyue. The mission of this group is to help business leaders build transformative businesses, including new business prototyping and launching, business transformation, etc. Lanyue works with companies that are facing critical transformative moments and need executional and operational level assistance, including but not limited to MNCs, conglomerates as well as segment leaders.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Undergraduate and/or master’s degree with a strong record of academic achievement
  • 1+ years of working experience in marketing & sales (B2B/B2C) with leading companies in FMCG or consulting industry, experience of sales efficiency BPR is preferred
  • Cooperative personality; ability to work with and coach effectively in a diverse group of team members
  • Detail oriented and with the ability to work under pressure; mentally resilient to sustain the journey
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive thinking about potential improvements to how things are done; highly pragmatic, focused on achieving outcomes and impact
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytical and conceptual problem solving, comfort with quantitative analysis, and managerial accounting
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, verbally and in writing, both in English and Chinese
  • Comfortable with extensive travel
