Your Impact

As a Data Operations Engineer, you will design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines, partner with solution architects, transform raw data into compelling data models, and build processes supporting data modeling, ingestion, transformation, and qualitative analysis.
Additionally, you will lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of tools and processes to improve our operations, ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies. Your work will help expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture, ensuring optimal data delivery and consistency during engagements.
You will be based in the USA as part of our Secure Foundation Cloud Services team, which manages McKinsey's global IT infrastructure and applications, providing “Data Operation and Engineering” services for McKinsey’s business operations. The team is distributed globally across three time zones (India, USA, Costa Rica).

Your qualifications and skills

  • 3+ years of industry experience with Data Operations and Engineering best practices.
  • Experience in building and optimizing Data Engineering pipeline, architectures and data sets
  • Extensive working experience with backend programing languages like SQL & Python
  • Proficiency working with data systems such as Snowflake & Databricks etc. is desired
  • Familiarity with both relational & non-relational database systems
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, JFrog, SonarQube etc
  • Experience working cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
  • Knowledge to use visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, Power BI, etc
  • Demonstrate understanding of AI technologies, their applications, and ethical considerations in business contexts. This includes the ability to work with AI tools, interpret AI outputs, and ensure responsible AI use in decision-making processes
