Your Impact

As a member of the Secure Foundation Cloud Services team, you will oversee and enhance McKinsey’s global IT infrastructure and applications.
Your responsibilities will include expanding and modernizing database platforms to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency for enterprise applications and business operations.
You will address business challenges by coding, testing, and delivering solutions. Key responsibilities include migrating application databases to open-source and cloud databases, automating daily operations for all types of data stores, and performing core PostgreSQL Server administration tasks such as database creation, performance tuning, monitoring, and backups/restoration/recovery.
You will design migration strategies from on-premises databases and lead the implementation of tools and processes, ensuring adherence to data governance and security policies. Collaboration with data architects, engineers, and software engineers is crucial. Additionally, you will manage infrastructure configurations and resources for cloud and database platforms, contributing to the global team's efficiency.

Your qualifications and skills

  • 3+ years of experience with Database Administration on PostgreSQL Database on AWS/Azure Cloud
  • 2+ years of working experience on AWS (Aurora/RDS) or Azure cloud database technologies
  • Understanding and ability to work with Infrastructure as code, Terraform, and CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Must have working knowledge of SQL & Python and ability to perform process automation & data analysis
  • Experience in migrating On-Prem database (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres) to AWS/Azure
  • Demonstrate understanding of AI technologies, their applications, and ethical considerations in business contexts. This includes the ability to work with AI tools, interpret AI outputs, and ensure responsible AI use in decision-making processes
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies DevSecOps area and work with the team to implement new solutions to improve productivity
  • Knowledge/experience on Snowflake/Databricks data platform would be preferred
