Your Impact

You will be based in our Toronto, Canada office as a part of the Market Intelligence team at Panorama. Your team harnesses a blend of banking and financial data sources including proprietary McKinsey data to help clients identify strategic opportunities, improve their financial planning, or benchmark their performance.
Your team is responsible for helping clients around the world define their strategy and value proposition, leveraging innovative data analysis and insights into retail banking customer segments.
You will collaborate with teams across McKinsey and clients worldwide. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, responsibility and closely collaborate with McKinsey colleagues.
Your focus will be on measuring the value of customer segments globally and helping banks define their strategies and value propositions toward target segments.
In this role, you will split your time developing and delivering proprietary assets, supporting clients and engagement teams with your asset-backed expertise – applying your work in client setting.
You will lead deep-dive research on a variety of topics around banking, customer demographics, and regional trends. You will analyze large amounts of information in a quick and efficient manner and communicate key strategic insights from these analyses to both internal and external stakeholders.
You will devote time to developing a variety of proprietary databases, statistical and market models, and documents to help inform the decision making of both our clients and fellow McKinsey colleagues.
Your position will allow you to further build your skills in data/analytics, critical thinking, synthesis, and product development, while working in a dynamic business environment. In addition to getting direct exposure to clients, you will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from more senior colleagues.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in economics, banking, finance, or other related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in banking, finance, private equity, venture capital, or other closely related area
  • Excellent organizational capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion
  • Proficient in rational decision making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning
  • Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to synthesize complex relationships
  • Outstanding attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and keep tight deadlines - Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to process complex information
  • Experienced user of Excel; R, Python, other advanced analytics tools, or programming knowledge are a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinsey's discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
