Your Impact
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a global network of technologists, designers, and strategists to help clients transform their businesses through innovative digital solutions.
In this role, you will work hands-on with clients across industries to bring their digital ambitions to life. You will develop software products and services from the ground up while coaching and mentoring client teams on engineering best practices, user-centric design, and Agile values. By co-creating with clients and their leadership, you’ll help build not only cutting-edge products but also the technical capabilities and cultures needed to sustain them.
Your work will drive meaningful change for clients and their industries. You will participate in cross-functional problem-solving sessions with client leaders, shaping their digital strategies and delivering solutions that go beyond the product itself. Your efforts will help clients build scalable teams and engineering cultures that enable long-term success.
You will collaborate with clients across industries to turn their digital ambitions into reality through hands-on technical expertise. Based in one of our global locations, you will be part of QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, a multidisciplinary group of software engineers, AI engineers, data scientists, and technology consultant passionate about creating industry-shaping products and tools.

Your qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields (graduation between December 2023 and December 2026)
- Foundational experience developing software applications and writing clean, maintainable code
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#
- Familiarity with modern development tools and frameworks (e.g., APIs, frontend frameworks, databases, or cloud platforms) through academic, internship, or personal projects
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Effective communication skills — both verbally and in writing — in English and Portuguese
