A Day in the Life
The Facilities Maintenance Technician III for Medtronic Ponce Puerto Rico Site is responsible for the effective maintenance, upkeep, installations, repairs, troubleshooting and continuous operations of equipment related to Facilities and Utilities area in a teamwork-oriented manufacturing environment. This position will report to the Facilities Manager for the PR South Cluster and support can be expanded to Villalba site also under specific circumstances. Contribution will strengthen and support our mission of putting our patient first alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life for millions of people around the world.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Third Shift

Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
Uses hand and power tools.
Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Performs installations, maintenance, and repairs plant/utilities equipment such as Chillers, Cooling Towers, Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning DX Units, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Generators and Pumps.
Provide support to other team member, when necessary, on all type of utility or Building and Ground equipment installations including electrical, refrigeration and/or mechanical.
Verify proper operation of Emergency Generators.
Perform minor infrastructure repairs within the facility.
Perform daily monitoring of Critical System Equipment regarding Facilities.
Locates, diagnoses failures and perform basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting using electronic equipment, drawings, diagrams, specifications, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
Performs all type of maintenance and maintains appropriate maintenance logs using CMMS System such as Maximo.
Uses a variety of hand, power and test tools and equipment.
Performs daily revision of Chilled and Reheated water loop operation.
Able to drive forklifts, scissor lifts and personal lifts.
Performs task with safety precautions and practices in all situations.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements :
Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
Nice To Have:
Puerto Rico Refrigeration License and active member CTRPR.
Licensed Electrician License and active member of CPEPR.
Mechanic License of Puerto Rico.
Knowledge in masonry, Gypsum Board and interiors works.
Knowledge in Maximo CMMS.
Knowledge in Air Compressors and Air Dryers.
Knowledge in Fire Prevention and Sprinklers Systems.
Knowledge in Pest Control Systems.
Knowledge in Water Softening and Purification Systems
Knowledge in Cooling Tower Water Chemical Treatment Systems.
Knowledge in EHS Programs related to Facilities area.
Knowledge on Condition Monitoring Maintenance Techniques (Any certification is a plus)
Fluent in reading and speaking English and Spanish (Bilingual is a plus)
