A Day in the Life
This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions business. Do you want to be part of a team who build out our lean manufacturing processes for our medical devices? This is an exciting opportunity for you if you are an experienced Supply Chain Planning Manager interested in working in a fast paced manufacturing environment. You will participate directly in build new manufacturing processes development, implementation and qualification of production equipment and methods, generate testing protocols and reports.The Respiratory Intervention Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum. Our plant (Mallinckrodt DAR) in Mirandola, is part of Machined Implantable, Capital and Disposable Operations cluster. We serve our Respiratory Intervention Operating Unit to deliver solutions and products that prevent the onset and improve the management of respiratory failure.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Performs supply chain functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control.
• Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers.
• Plans and analyzes activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, and planning of production materials.
• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
• Supervise the raw material supply in order to guarantee production continuity and the minimum safety stock level.
• Supervise the production schedule of components, semi finished goods and finished goods in order to meet net requirements (forecasts) and service targets (NRA, PA%, Backorder).
• Work with Global Supply Chain Demand & Supply Planning teams and Logistics Planners in order define and validate annual production volumes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
• Meet financials objectives: inventory level (plant and WW), free cash flow, MPE (PPV).
• Implement and ensure compliance with Corporate Policy.
• Manage End Of Life materials working with external suppliers and internal functions (sustaining and engineering).
• Create periodic reports regarding main KPIs, projects and activities in order to update internal and external functions within the Organizations.
• Supervise team's daily activities, motivate and engage people.
• Evaluate people performance, identify focus areas for professional & personal development.
• Promote hiring, firing, promotion and reward within own area.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
· Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business; preferred Masters in Supply Chain or Business Management
· Experience: Minimum of 3 to 6 years’ experience of materials planning ideally in the Medical Technology or Manufacturing environment
· Good communication Skills
· Strong understanding of Supply Chain Planning processes
· Strong IT systems knowledge, including advanced Excel skills
· Knowledge and experience of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems
· Fluent in English
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, strong project management skills, and relevant certifications such as APICS or PMI
