A Day in the Life
As an ECLS Clinical Specialist at Medtronic, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the adoption, implementation, and optimal use of Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) technologies across hospitals and intensive care units. You will serve as the clinical expert and primary point of contact for healthcare professionals, ensuring high-quality patient care through education, hands-on support, and troubleshooting during critical procedures.
Working closely with the sales and therapy development teams, your focus will be on training clinicians in the safe and effective use of Medtronic's ECLS systems—including ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)—while also gathering feedback from the field to help drive continuous improvement and innovation. Your expertise will contribute to clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and the expansion of ECLS therapy across targeted regions.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Develop and deliver live and virtual training programs on ECMO products to healthcare providers in hospitals and medical facilities
- Provides clinical and technical expertise through case support, product demonstrations, trials and installations
- Work closely with key opinion leaders and industry experts to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices related to ECMO therapy
- Provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by providing technical support and information on specific applications
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for additional training and support to drive product adoption and sales
- Attend and support key regional, national, medical meetings
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Extracorporeal Life Support and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation experience
- Strong technical aptitude, specifically in Cardiac Surgery and/or the clinical environment
- Bachelor's degree and technical experience in the therapy
- Ability to travel extensively more than 50% of the time nationally and internationally
- Valid Driving Licence
