Senior Financial Analyst in GOSC Controllership responsible for Parkmore site

At our Finance department in Medtronic, we focus on providing timely, relevant and accurate information to help strategically drive the business forward. A key member of the Global Operations and Supply Chain (GOSC) Controllership team, we work to ensure our corporate reporting, compliance and statutory requirements are achieved and our fiduciary responsibilities are met.

A Day in The Life Of:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager GOSC Controllership, this position requires the person to work on one’s own initiative and requires flexibility to be involved in multiple areas of the Finance function. Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

• Compiles and analyses financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
• Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
• May oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards.
• Prepares balance sheet reconciliations and monitors balance sheet activity for accuracy.
• Responsible for adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls.
• Liaises with internal and external business partners including audit and tax partners, other finance teams, FP&A, External Reporting & site stakeholders.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives and works on ad hoc projects.

Key Skills & Experience

• Level 8 Hons Degree in Accountancy or Finance
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA Certified) with 4+ years of experience
• Broad understanding of Accounting and Financial Control Principles and Practices
• Excellent business partnering skills, and an ability to work both on one’s own initiative and with a team.
• Strong IT skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
