We are looking for an Engineering Director to lead and transform and automate manual Test and Visual Inspection solutions across Medtronic global manufacturing enterprise. This role is critical in driving harmonized strategies that enhance manufacturing equipment and test and inspection solution design, development, and integration.
A Day in the Life
Lead a team of SMEs in Automated Test and Inspection (MTI) Manufacturing Equipment and Solution Design, Development, and Integration, delivering strategies and systems that align with Medtronic's vision.
Partner with manufacturing sites to implement Automated Test and Inspection Strategies, ensuring quality and reliability of test data.
Develop external partnerships to foster innovation in Automated Test and Inspection Systems, driving cost efficiency and productivity.
Oversee the design and development of new manufacturing equipment and automated test and inspection solutions, ensuring seamless integration and functionality within existing systems.
Guide the conceptualization and development of new methodologies, materials, and machines for automated test and inspection solutions, from initial design through to successful integration and deployment.
Automated Test and Visual Inspection Specific Job Accountabilities:
Shape and transform future Automated Test and Inspection systems to improve financial efficiency, product capability, process control, and reliability.
Monitor and evaluate technical quality assurance, control systems, and standards to ensure excellence in materials and techniques.
Direct feasibility studies and documentation maintenance through Program Management and project teams throughout all phases of research and development.
Coordinate with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery and integration of innovative solutions.

Lead a cross-functional department comprised of multiple project leaders and subject matters expert teams, providing visionary leadership and strategic direction.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent for degrees earned outside of the United States) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.
Mastery level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline, with broad understanding of other areas within the job function.
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee multiple job areas and drive strategic initiatives.
Ability to develop long-term strategic relationships and alliances with key internal and external stakeholders.
Comfortable with Project Management principles, concepts, practices, and standards including various methodologies.
