A Day in the Life
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Downstream Marketing to lead the strategic development and execution of marketing plans aimed at growing and developing the market for urinary and fecal incontinence therapies. This role requires a proven leader with expertise in driving market adoption, building brand equity, and developing high-performing marketing teams.The Senior Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the portfolio’s market presence, creating impactful consumer and clinician engagement opportunities, and ensuring the team is equipped to deliver exceptional results. The Senior Director will manage product marketing, HCP Market development, Patient engagement, US Field Market Development and US Therapy development teams. This role demands strategic vision, operational excellence, and a collaborative approach to leadership.

1. Strategic Marketing Plan Development
- Lead the creation and implementation of comprehensive downstream marketing plans to drive adoption and expand the market for new and under-penetrated therapies.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and shape strategic initiatives.
- Guide development of messaging strategies and value propositions tailored to target audiences, including healthcare providers, payers, and patients.
2. Lead US Product Launch for Innovative new therapy
- Lead the launch of a new, innovative therapy with the potential to transform the incontinence treatment paradigm.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop strategies that support new therapy adoption
- Engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) to drive therapy adoption and ensure successful product introduction
3. Market Growth and Development
- Define and execute strategies to grow the market, including product positioning, therapy development plans, clinical strategy, and consumer and clinician engagement plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (upstream marketing, sales, clinical, reimbursement, medical education etc.) to ensure alignment and consistency across all efforts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure market growth and identify areas for improvement.
4. Team Leadership and Development
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing downstream marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to team members, ensuring continuous growth and skill enhancement.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and serve as a role model for Medtronic’s values and leadership principles.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to enhance the company's reputation and influence within the industry. Collaborate with KOLs to gather insights and drive strategic initiatives.
- Partner with the US sales team and Global partners to deliver effective tools and materials that drive customer engagement and therapy adoption.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies in all marketing activities.
Basic Qualifications - Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15+ (13+ with an advanced degree) years of experience in marketing, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of healthcare markets, including reimbursement, regulatory, and clinical landscapes.
- Digital marketing experience.
Preferred – Nice to have:
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful downstream marketing plans for new therapies or medical technologies.
- Embrace innovative technologies and strategies to enhance customer engagement and marketing effectiveness, leveraging data analytics, performance metrics, and customer insights to inform strategic planning.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing and developing marketing teams. Demonstrated ability to inspire teams.
- Innovative thinker with a passion for marketing.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management abilities.
- Passion for innovation and improving patient outcomes through transformative therapies.
- Focused on achieving measurable outcomes and driving business growth.
- Experience in direct to consumer engagement in either the healthcare or consumer goods space.
