A Day in the Life
"We are searching for a Facilities Manager who will be instrumental in defining the future state of our Medtronic Ponce / Villalba facilities Cluster. Expected to manage contracted services (Soft Services) such as Janitorial, Security and Cafeteria per established contract, company policies and guidelines. Pursue service cost efficiency initiatives that will sustain and improve operational cash flow as results of savvy negotiating between service providers and stakeholders. This role will also contribute extensively to the future growth of our manufacturing operations by managing capital projects required to sustain local Facilities and Utilities operations for future years. The role will coordinate design, planning, construction and will ensure project delivery for the Cluster. As part of this scope, will manage negotiations and coordination with internal customers and Facilities stakeholders to develop project scope and implementation schedule. This individual will be accountable to the Corporate and Regional Facilities team, managing resources and projects according to Medtronic and industry policies, standards, and regulations. This position will work across functions within Corporate Facilities Technical SME’s and Project Engineering, Operations, Innovation, Opex, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality and Regulatory to assure successful execution of project, services and keep up to date with relevant technologies and system improvements."Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Manages site's contracted services (Soft Services) such as Janitorial, Security and Cafeteria per established contract, company policies and guidelines.
- Manages and is accountable for Soft Services KPI’s (i.e., Janitorial and Pest Control KPI’s) Ensures Soft Services KPI’s are properly established, monitored, and executed consistently through the year.
- With Site Cluster Lead, Responsible for site Soft Services budget, invoicing and financial upkeep. Manages expenses, keeps proper accounting, and uses available funds to sustain the Ponce / Villalba Cluster operations.
- Plans and submits proper capital projects required to sustain local Facilities and Utilities operations for future years.
- Manages the design, planning, construction and project delivery for the Cluster facilities.
- Works with internal customers and Facilities stakeholders to develop project scope and implementation schedule.
- Works with external contractors to manage and supervise their work performance and adherence to project scope, schedule and cost control.
- Is the Cluster liaison with Corporate Facilities SMEs to ensure proper site support and corporate project implementation (i.e. Electrical infrastructure, BAS and other equipment / mechanical projects).
- Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications / projects, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
- Designs and develops organizational policies and SOPs relevant to Facilities Project execution (i.e., Contractor training, contractor work permits, etc.).
- Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.
- Responsible for site’s Service Now work order system and cluster Handy Men support for general facilities repairs.
- Designs and develops organizational policies and SOPs relevant to Soft Services (i.e., Janitorial, Pest Control, Security, etc.).
- Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software.
- Functional Skills: Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance, Management Software programs (CMMS), Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, Working knowledge of maintenance operations, administrative services, contract management, security, janitorial, and grounds maintenance, Effective Communication Skills.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have·
- Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
- Project Management experience (certification preferred)
- Building Automation Systems experience
- Predictive Maintenance experience
- Energy Efficiency Programs (i.e. LEED / CEM)
