Position Description:
Principal Industrial Engineer for Medtronic, Inc., located in Danvers, MA. Responsible for analyzing and designing sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and methodologies to drive operational excellence. Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control and production record systems. Lead site space planning strategy, and coordination and implementation of such strategies using Line Layout design and implementation (Space planning). Apply DMAIC (Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) problem solving methodologies by leveraging Six Sigma. Coordinate the implementation of various Lean Principles to create standardized work charts, process maps, including 5S, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Design and implement modeling capacity through statistical data analysis, capacity models, simulations facilitating equipment and facility layouts. Utilize various quality tools to include A3Problem Solving, Just In Time (JIT), Kanban, Flow acceleration, Root Cause Analysis, Design for Operations (DFO), and Voice of Operations. Utilize software programs including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Project, Visio, AutoCAD, and Simulation. Relocation assistance is not available. #LI-DNI
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Master’s degree in Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and four (4) years of experience as an industrial engineer, manufacturing engineer or closely related occupation. Must possess at least four (4) years of experience with each of the following: site space planning strategy, coordination & implementation; DMAIC and Six Sigma; implementation of Lean Principles incl. 5S, Standard Work, and VSM; modeling capacity using statistical data analysis, and simulations facilitating equipment; A3 Problem Solving, JIT, Kanban, Flow Acceleration, RCA, and DFO; and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Project, Visio, AutoCAD, and Simulation.
Salary: $130,600 to $170,400 per year
