A Day in the Life

Medtronic is seeking a dynamic and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team onsite in Minneapolis. This role is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top engineering talent to support Medtronic’s mission of alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of recruiting for engineering roles, expertise in using Workday as an applicant tracking system (ATS), and the ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Recruitment Strategy and Execution:

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs, define job requirements, and develop tailored recruitment strategies for engineering roles.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates using advanced sourcing techniques, including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and networking events.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, from initial outreach to offer negotiation and onboarding.

Candidate Pipeline Development:

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified engineering candidates for current and future hiring needs.
  • Leverage Workday to track candidate progress, manage requisitions, and ensure compliance with Medtronic’s hiring policies.
  • Proactively identify and engage passive candidates through creative sourcing methods.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing market insights, recruitment metrics, and recommendations to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition leadership to align recruitment efforts with organizational goals.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear and timely communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with Medtronic’s policies, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Utilize Workday to generate recruitment reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of candidate interactions and hiring decisions.

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, with a focus on engineering roles, or, an advanced degree

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience recruiting for engineering roles in the medical device, healthcare, or technology industries.
  • Knowledge of behavioral-based interview techniques and best practices.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations related to recruitment.
  • Certification in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Proficiency in using Workday as an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Strong sourcing skills, including experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing platforms.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$68,000.00 - $102,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
