A Day in the Life

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

As a Principal HR Generalist supporting the Diabetes Operating Unit, you will act as a trusted partner and advisor, helping shape a high-performance culture that supports the mission of delivering innovative solutions to transform diabetes care. You will drive key HR initiatives, ensure policy alignment, and provide support across talent strategy, performance management, employee engagement, and organizational development.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs, implements and executes human resources strategies for business unit and functional groups.
  • Partners with business operations to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objective and proactively resolves HR and business issues.
  • Provides solutions through organizational effectiveness and employee life cycle management.
  • Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management.
  • Responsible for and/or serves as a HR liaison in key projects.
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics and trends to drive data driven strategic decisions and improve people operations
  • Lead or support enterprise-wide programs and change management initiatives.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree
  • Requires minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • MBA or master’s in human resources
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of labor law and HR compliance
  • Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and influence skills
  • Experience with Workday and advanced analytics platforms
  • Bilingual fluency (Spanish and English)
