In this exciting role as a Senior Principal Project Management Specialist, you will have primary responsibility as the project management specialist/core team member on cross functional programs supporting a range of new product development activities within the Coronary and Renal Denervation Operating Unit. You will work with cross functional teams to plan and execute programs from initiation through commercialization. This will include developing project plans, identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating with cross-functional partners, and sharing best practices.
Coronary & Renal Denervation therapies are a vital component of the Medtronic interventional cardiology portfolio. In addition to our core products that treat blocked coronary arteries, we are seeking to solve unmet needs in the rapidly growing field of complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We also are leading the way with the transformational renal denervation therapy, which has the potential to be a powerful tool in battling the global hypertension epidemic.

A Day in the Life
In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Principal Project Management Specialist. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Act as the project management specialist/core team member on cross functional programs supporting a range of new product development activities. Oversee and manage the operational aspects of projects.
- Build cross functional project schedules from first principles. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with cross functional peers and stakeholders.
- Monitor the project from initiation through delivery and manage changing priorities on projects through effective schedule management and deployment of Project Management methodologies.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the project management processes, guidelines, tools and business processes, including templates, best practices, and overall implementation.
- Support resource management & tracking activities & support the overall project management infrastructure (metrics, reporting, program updates, design & business reviews etc.).
- Communicate organizational capacity constraints, program risks, issues and decisions to core team leader, cross functional core team members and key stakeholders.
- Train teams on adopted project management methodologies within CRDN and within the global Medtronic project management office (PMO).
- Be a recognized expert in your role. Provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within the job area.
- Provide support for QMS audit and inspection preparation specific to PDP procedures and processes as required, including resolution of audit findings.
- Support PMO specific functional initiatives within CRDN and collaborate across other OUs on specific activities (eg. Peer reviews, training or review/update of harmonized procedures).
- Operate as role model by striving for continuous improvement and being an agent of change.
Qualifications –
Must Have - Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a technical discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of technical work experience in Engineering, Science, or advanced degree in Engineering, Science with 8 years of technical experience.
Nice to Have:
- Demonstrated program/project management experience,
- Hardware and/or software medical device program management experience
- PMP certification; Project Management Certification (preferably PMI) and/or Green Belt Certification
- Experience in Communication Plan development and execution, strategic planning, and risk and change management
- Expertise in MS Project (or similar scheduling software), project management techniques and tools; and both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as PowerBI
- Experience in resource and expectations management in a matrix organization
- Ability to drive to completion in adherence to aggressive project schedules
