A Day in the Life

The Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) operating unit (OU) is committed to excellence in innovation and commercialization to pursue our vision and long-term business growth. The ACM organization is refining its product delivery, innovation, and commercialization approach to enable product leadership across all segments of our product portfolio. This will require enhancing our innovative processes, refining our design and delivery approaches to deliver an integrated and comprehensive portfolio that enables product development excellence across ACM.

The Senior Group Manager, Global Downstream Marketing will lead a team of product marketers and program managers to develop the Respiratory product portfolio commercial strategy. This includes product branding and messaging, product launches, geographic expansions, portfolio optimization, customer events and conferences, pricing and contracting, competitive strategy, etc. This leader will be accountable for achieving a powerful and harmonized global presence for ACMs Respiratory portfolio in partnership with the global business and region marketing teams. This leader will partner with cross-functional teams to accelerate revenue and market share growth, while ensuring alignment with the business leadership team. This will be a high visibility and high impact role to develop as a key commercial and business leader within the organization.

This position is based in Lafayette, Colorado along with the rest of the product marketing and business leadership team.

A Day in The Life

  • Lead product marketing strategy and execution with the goal of driving commercial excellence, accelerating revenue and market share growth, and improving adoption of Microstream and Nellcor patient monitoring technologies.
  • Develop a compelling therapy and portfolio branding, and messaging strategy by market segment.
  • Oversee new product launches, phase-in phase-out, and geo expansions
  • Manage the commercial portfolio through integrated business planning (IBP) process to optimize forecasts and product availability
  • Shape ACM presence at Medtronic organized events and scientific congresses
  • Manage regular cadence of sales communications and plans of action (POA)
  • Own competitive strategy, including competitive messaging and positioning
  • Identify and execute high profile growth initiatives
  • Maximize portfolio impact with customer targeting, key account strategy, and pricing / contracting initiatives
  • Implement global portfolio strategy in partnership with regional business teams
  • Accelerate clinical marketing in partnership with clinical and medical affairs team
  • Partner with finance, sales, and sales support teams to achieve quarterly / annual financial commitments
  • Shape sales training and medical education strategy in alignment with business goals
  • Build strong relationships with KOLs and VIP physicians in key accounts
  • Track, measure, analyze and report the effectiveness of marketing initiatives to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of product marketers
  • Authorize hiring, firing, promotion, and reward for the team members
  • 30-40% travel

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of people, program or project management experience
  • Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and 5+ years of people, program or project management experience

Nice to Have

  • MBA or an advanced degree in the field of medical / healthcare / business
  • Demonstrated success in leading a commercial function with direct people management responsibilities
  • Self-driven and able to lead with influence
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills
  • Experience engaging C-suite level business and cross-functional leadership
  • Proven ability to achieve strategic initiatives across a matrixed organization

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$154,400.00 - $231,600.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
