As Training & Education Manager, you'll lead the design, delivery, and continuous evolution of our field education programs — empowering commercial and clinical teams with the knowledge and confidence to improve patient outcomes through innovation.You’ll manage a high-performing team and oversee all aspects of product and procedural training strategy, ensuring consistency, compliance, and effectiveness across multiple programs. From developing content to mentoring talent, you’ll play a pivotal role in enabling scalable growth and commercial success across the Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) business.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Design and lead impactful training programs for sales representatives, clinical specialists, and field teams, utilizing adult learning methodologies (e.g., ADDIE) and aligning content with evolving technologies, procedural standards, and business objectives
- Develop and maintain curriculum and materials for new product launches and therapy expansions, ensuring educational content supports quality standards, regulatory requirements, and procedural excellence
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Research & Development, Regulatory, Legal, Physician Education, and other stakeholders to ensure training is relevant, compliant, and strategically aligned
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of training professionals and/or supervisors, driving engagement, performance, professional development, and inclusion through clear KPIs, coaching, and talent development practices
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, applying a continuous improvement mindset to enhance program outcomes and field performance, while leveraging technical trainers for specialized instruction
- Maintain active communication with field teams and customers, ensuring training relevance, procedural fluency, and clinical expertise, while fostering a strong learning culture across the organization
- Exercise operational leadership and influence, independently managing complex training initiatives, proposing process improvements, and impacting decisions around resource allocation, stakeholder satisfaction, and educational innovation
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 5 years of relevant, leadership experience in clinical training, field support, or healthcare education in a medical device
- Experience managing a team, with a proven track record of coaching, developing, and retaining talent
- Advanced skills in curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery
- Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience in spinal or cranial technologies, neurosurgery, or orthopedics, familiarity with tools such as Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, SharePoint, and Smartsheet, experience building training programs for product launches or indication expansions, clinical or professional certifications (e.g., IBHRE, RCIS, Instructional Design) and a passion for teaching and a demonstrated ability to create engaging, results-driven learning experiences are considered advantaged for this role.
