A Day in the Life

An internal growth story has created an exciting opportunity for a Senior Import/Export Analyst to join Medtronic based in Seoul!

Reporting to the Deliver Operations Manager, the Senior Import/Export Analyst will be responsible for managing import and export operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including documentation, clearance, and shipment tracking.

  • Ensure compliance with customs, international trade laws, and internal policies

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers to resolve ad-hoc shipment issues.

  • Review trade performance/HS code classification and provide monthly KPI reports.

  • Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Stay up to date with changes in global trade regulations and implement best practices.

  • Perform compliance reviews and risk assessments to prepare the organization for potential customs audits.

  • Provide guidance and training to business units on customs regulations and export controls.

  • Actively support and contribute to global trade operations initiatives and projects

  • Perform monthly cost settlement, review results, and prepare reports by closing deadlines

  • Coordinate RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes with Global internal stake holders/freight forwarders to secure competitive rates and reliable service.

  • Monitor and manage OTP (On-Time Performance) of logistics partners, ensuring timely delivery and addressing delays proactively.

  • Oversee freight damage management, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and internal/external claim processes.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree qualifications in Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics or related disciplines

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in import/export operations and/or trade compliance

  • Intermediate level in MS Excel & Powerpoint

  • Work experience in a multinational organization within medical device/pharmaceutical/cosmetics/Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industries.

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS code classification, COO and other trade operational knowledge

  • Experience in handling customs audits

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean languages
