As a key member of our International Digital Communications Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing and analysing digital communications strategies & campaigns. The Senior Digital & Social Media Specialist reports to the Senior Manager Digital Communications. The position will be based in Galway, Ireland, and will be defined as Remote.

A Day in The Life Of:

• Develop initiatives to understand and analyse our target audience, with the objective to subsequently tailor content strategies that meet their needs and preferences.
• Initiate quarterly content quality reviews, in close collaboration with digital leads and key stakeholders, to elevate standards and optimise content for the respective channels.
• Facilitate the implementation of global digital channel strategies (systems, channel consolidation, channel admin guidelines) with a focus on websites and social media (including the employee engagement tool), with the goal of ensuring alignment with enterprise digital standards, policies, and governance.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging channels to support adjustments of strategies where needed and if applicable.
• Analyse data from multiple sources (e.g web analytics, social media metrics, social listening data) to identify trends, insights, conversations, competitor activities etc., as well as areas for improvement.
• Lead the development and maintenance of dashboards and regular reports to track digital communications performance across various platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital initiatives.
• Develop and implement international, cross-regional digital communication projects and campaigns that build brand & reputation, including SEO and SEM and cooperation with external digital agencies.
• Roll-out and localise Global Corporate or Enterprise Digital Marketing projects or campaigns that build brand and reputation.
• Publish and update content on our websites and relevant social media channels flagships, the country websites, through the Content Management System (CMS).
• Publish content to relevant social media channels through the Social Media Management System (SMMS).
• SME for social media channels in scope for Medtronic and industry trends around these channels, SME for paid media.
• Global liaison for social media strategy.
• Opportunity to participate in international projects and initiatives which you’ll be assigned to by the Sr. Manager Digital Communications.

Key Skills & Experience

• Honours Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related discipline with a minimum 5 years’ digital communications/marketing experience.
• Strong verbal & written skills. Fluent English speaker.
• Digital Marketing Professional (campaigns, data analysis and reporting).
• Enjoys working in an international and multicultural environment.
• Can work effectively in a team or as an individual.
• High affinity for content creation & storytelling.
• Strong experience with content management systems.
• Excellent project management and self-organisation skills.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and platforms to create and optimise content, streamline workflows and manage projects etc. Motivation to continuously expand AI related skills.
• Ideally experience in a complex Matrix organisation.
