A Day in the Life
This exciting Global Program Director - Facilities Maintenance role will be based on-site in Minneapolis or Memphis and have global maintenance management oversight. This includes manufacturing facilities, research and development centers, regional offices, and distribution hubs. This position is on-site, 4+ days/week at OHQ-Minneapolis or Memphis Airways / Pyramid.
As the Global Program Director - Facilities Maintenance, you will direct and provide oversight and evaluate performance of facilities programs including Maintenance Excellence, Redundancy Analysis, 5S and other maintenance related programs, leveraging our MPS ( Medtronic Performance System). You will serve as a key resource for large scale capital projects, and capital planning.
You will lead key program resources and provide guidance for a large team of Maintenance Managers and Supervisors at the Regional and Site level. You will interact with employees at all levels including Medtronic Executives along with large regional & global vendors and SMEs.
Problems and issues faced are difficult, and may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas or specialties. You will actively make improvements of processes and systems, to enhance the performance of the job area. Analysis provided is in-depth in nature and often provides recommendations on process improvements.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Leading by example in the use of MPS (Medtronic Performance System) to drive continuous improvement and talent development.
Provide Direct oversight of the Global Facilities Maintenance Excellence, Redundancy Analysis, 5S and CMMS programs.
Facilitate “One Best Way” and the “Medtronic Mindset” within the Global Facilities Organization
Communicate and conduct briefings with senior or executive leadership regarding critical program outcomes.
Influence across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on new proposals and programs with divergent objectives.
Lead ongoing design, development, and implementation of business processes and program to ensure needs of Business Unit and Corporate internal customers are consistently met or exceeded.
Assist in planning and management of annual expenses and capital budgets.
Work cross functionally in a matrixed organization to develop and maintain consistent standards, identify opportunities for improvement and execution.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, including executive management.
Assessing, planning, promoting, and delivering current Facilities services.
Assists in the development and implements integrated service models using business systems, processes, personnel and external service providers.
Recommend and implement new technologies, standards and procedures.
Assists Global Facilities Engineering team with the planning and commissioning of projects.
Ensure that all environmental health and safety practices and knowledge are penetrated throughout the organization.
Develop and comply with Quality Management System policies and procedures as they relate to Facilities.
Represent Facilities function as the subject matter expert when meeting with internal and external auditors.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience Managing large Global Teams in Manufacturing Facilities Maintenance and daily Operations with 7+ years of Managerial experience; OR advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience Managing large Global Teams in Manufacturing Facilities Maintenance and daily Operations with 7+ years of Managerial experience.
Must maintain a current and valid Passport, with availability to travel up to 25% annually.
This position is based on-site, 4+ days/week in Minneapolis or Memphis.
Nice to Have
Mechanical Engineering degree.
Contract Management experience.
Building Systems: HVAC, Electrical, Structural and Building Envelope.
Experience working in regulated environments.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Experience managing in a matrixed corporate environment.
Experience supervising facilities and maintenance teams.
Experience with financial planning/management/forecasting.
Experience leading large teams.
Ability to lead initiatives and projects.
Excellent customer service.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Analytical/ problem resolution experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience communicating at all levels of the organization.
Experience with CMMS systems
