In Medtronic Korea, we are looking for talent Senior Medical Affairs Specialist who can lead the scientific medical communication, management of the Investigator Sponsored Studies, and implementation of impactful projects with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Reporting to the Medical Affairs Manager, the Senior Medical Affairs Specialist will represent medical affairs internally and externally for Korea. Within this role, you will gain exposure developing and executes medical affairs activity in the region for either a specific therapeutic area or across several therapeutic areas. This is an individual contributor role and will be sitting at the Medtronic office with the rest of the Medical Affairs Team in Seoul.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop, implements integrated evidence-based medical science strategic plans

  • Support Investigator Sponsored Studies

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of all clinical and scientific data for company products and maintains a deep understanding of the science behind our products

  • Build relationships and demonstrates the clinical outcome and benefits of company product to thought leaders, key opinion leaders and professional societies by communicating recent clinical data and evidence summaries, which can be presented during field visits, hospital seminars, and customer meetings

  • Lead key opinion leaders mapping, segmentation, and engagement planning, supporting partnerships with key opinion leaders aligned with Medtronic’s strategies to improve patient outcomes. It includes designing engagement activities, gathering clinical insights and feedback for internal strategies, and building relationships with them while collaborating with cross-functional teams on product advocacy and advisory board discussions.

  • Disseminate clinical data and provide clinical evidence training and update to internal and external stakeholders

  • Develops and drives consultant and scientific advisory boards and provide medical/scientific expertise to advisory boards

  • Provide clinical and medical input to various functions to facilitate insightful decision-making and enable achievement of business objectives

  • Write, edit, and format clinical study documents, manuscripts, and abstracts in collaboration with lead authors

  • Scientific presentation development in compliance with Medtronic procedures and scientific conference guidelines

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree qualifications or above

  • More than 3 years of professional expertise and experience in Medical Affairs and Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industries

  • Solid understanding of Medical Affairs in the medical devices and/or pharmaceutical industries

  • Experience in project-based activities and successfully delivering initiatives, with the ability to leverage an existing network of external stakeholders

  • Knowledge of local laws & regulations for clinical research, and clinical trial methodology and statistics

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Korean languages

  • Computer and MS Office proficient (advance level)

  • Achievement oriented and ability to drive results with the highest quality standards

  • Scientific background - Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Clinical research, Bioscience, or any Life Science studies (highly regarded)
