As a Senior Project Specialist, Medical Imaging Annotation at the AI Center of Excellence, you will play a critical role in enabling high-quality, large-scale annotation projects that power our AI and digital health solutions. You will be responsible for coordinating multiple annotation initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of projects that directly support our mission to advance patient care through AI-driven insights.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate annotation and digitization projects across multiple modalities, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality metrics are met.

  • Collaborate with external vendors to define and manage Statements of Work (SOWs), conduct time studies, and align project requirements with annotator skillsets.

  • Track project performance and vendor throughput, proactively identifying risks or delays and escalating as needed.

  • Partner with vendor managers to ensure smooth execution, capacity planning, and alignment of resources.

  • Prepare and maintain project timelines in Miro and Smartsheet, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility into progress.

  • Manage credit usage and provide regular updates for project reviews.

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for reporting project health, performance, and status updates to leadership.

  • Ensure alignment of annotation projects with broader AI COE strategies and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned and recommending process enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of project management experience

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, data science, engineering, or a related technical field

  • Experience working with medical imaging formats (e.g., DICOM, NIfTI) and annotation workflows

  • Strong vendor management experience, including SOW creation and contract execution

  • Familiarity with AI/ML data preparation and annotation processes

  • Recognized project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)

  • Proficiency with Smartsheet, Miro, Power BI, and Microsoft Teams

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Clear communicator-able to engage stakeholders at all levels and across functions

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement

  • Human physiology knowledge

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$112,000.00 - $168,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
