A Day in the Life
As an Intern at Medtronic Articulating Technologies, you’ll join a skilled team of experts committed to innovation. We develop breakthrough instrument technology for both robotic and non-robotic uses, revolutionizing medical procedures. Our expertise spans high-tech device development and world-class manufacturing. In our state-of-the-art R&D and pilot manufacturing facility, product development and production come together seamlessly.
Your internship features a comprehensive onboarding program, guidance from an internal mentor, and a challenging assignment. After you graduate, Medtronic Articulating Technologies offers many career paths tailored to your skills and aspirations.
Internship Details:
• Start date: March 2026
• Location: Geleen, The Netherlands
• Duration: between 16-24 weeks
• Working hours: 32 - 40 hours per week, with flexibility during exams and holidays
• Work model: Onsite
Responsibilities may include the following as well as other assigned tasks:
During your internship, you’ll focus on a primary project, chosen according to your background, interests, and experience. Below are examples of possible internship projects.
1. Process Characterization
In the design and development stage of our production processes, characterizing those processes is vital. You’ll test and document the relationships between process inputs and outputs and establish process controls to ensure reliability and efficiency. By the end of the project, we’ll have a clear understanding of process performance, highlighting areas for improvement.
2. Increase Equipment Uptime
Some equipment’s uptime can be enhanced by making wear parts more resistant. Improving these components not only reduces wear but can also boost overall equipment performance. This assignment involves designing a more durable part to maximize uptime and efficiency, without compromising other equipment features.
3. Design a Manufacturing Workstation
As we scale up, our manufacturing workstations are continually evolving. Several require redesigns to improve ergonomics, automation, capacity, or efficiency. Your role will be to gather design requirements and develop a future-ready workstation concept.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Final-year student of bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or a related technical field
• Fluency in Dutch (minimum C1 fluent level) and English (minimum B2 upper-intermediate)
• Strong teamwork skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and eagerness to learn
Would be a plus:
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Basic data analysis skills

Pay range: between 400-500 EUR gross per month (depending on educational level)
