A Day in the Life
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity within Medtronic’s Diabetes unit, offering the chance to shape national market strategy and drive sustainable growth. As Diabetes Commercial Manager & Market Development, you will influence access to life-changing diabetes technologies by working closely with Health Management Organizations (HMOs), the Ministry of Defense (MoD), the Army and distribution partners. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on commercial execution and team leadership.The role is national in scope and based in Ramat Hasharon, with regular engagement across Israel. You will report into the National Sales leadership and work in close partnership with Marketing, Operations, Field Force, Pricing and Patient Services. You will lead a small, experienced commercial team and contribute directly to shaping access, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategies within the Diabetes portfolio.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Develops and/or implements business strategies for existing and potential accounts
- Manages the day-to-day activities of a sales team to implement the organization’s overall sales strategy, with a strong focus on working with HMOs, distributors and the MoD / Army
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key account personnel and relevant internal functions to support selling, market development, service efforts and clinical programs
- Works in coordination with Pricing to respond to tenders and quotations for key customers and to negotiate business terms in accordance with management guidelines
- Identifies opportunities and develops new programs to support the organization’s sales plans and increase market share
- Assesses the need for new selling programs and processes, conducts competitive analysis and implements strategies
- Coaches sales representatives on procedures for working with HMOs and other key customers
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree and 5+ years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years experience in sales, clinical or related within medical devices, medtech, healthcare or life sciences
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing sales or commercial teams
- Proven ability to work with institutional customers such as HMOs and public sector stakeholders
- Experience supporting tenders, pricing discussions and commercial negotiations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across cross‑functional teams
Experience within the diabetes therapeutic area, familiarity with diabetes technologies and prior exposure to national‑level market access initiatives would be advantageous.
