A Day in the Life
Are you looking to pursue a career in Trade and excited to use data and digital tools to tackle real-world compliance challenges?We are looking for a data driven Trade Analyst to strengthen our AEO and Trade Compliance Program in EMEA. This is an excellent opportunity for a young professional who combines a strong interest in international trade with hands-on experience in analytics, automation, and modern digital tools.
This role will be hybrid that would require travel to the Heerlen Office. The employee is also required to interact with a computer and communicate with peers and co-workers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
You will help us transform how we manage our customs compliance program by developing smarter, data-driven processes and automation— design the next generation of digital customs solutions
- Support import and export compliance processes and internal audits, including AEO risk assessments and mitigation plans
- Develop data automations for internal audits using digital tools such as Power Automate, Snowflake, Medtronic GPT, Python, Excel Macros, SharePoint
- Work with SAP ECC, SAP GTS, or other ERP systems to extract, validate, and analyze customs-relevant data
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for audits, monitoring KPIs and trade flows
- Assist in improving customs master data (HS codes, origin, valuation) with a focus on quality and completeness
- Help maintain SOPs, work instructions, and documentation related to trade processes and digital solutions
- Work closely with internal teams (logistics, tax, finance, IT) and external stakeholders (customs brokers) to ensure compliant and efficient operations.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Economics, Tax, Data Science, Information Management, IT, or similar
- Interest in or basic knowledge of customs/trade principles
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with data
- Hands-on experience with automation or scripting (e.g., Power Automate, AI, Excel Macros, Python, or similar)
- Experience with tools for analytics, process and document management (like Power BI, SharePoint, etc.)
- Comfortable working with large datasets; strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups).

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
